Athens, Greece: 6 July 2021

The Greek RES Investment event was attended by representatives of 54 companies and organizations who were informed about the progress of investments in the field of RES in Greece.
According to the president of Enterprise Greece, Mr. Giannis Smyrlis,
"In the last decade, Greece has proceeded to a radical restructuring of the electricity industry, liberalizing the market, and attracting new private investment. Under the new National Energy and Climate Plan, Greece implements a comprehensive Green Agreement - one of the most ambitious in the world. Among other things, the Plan envisages the phasing out of all lignite-fired power plants by 2028, as well as doubling the contribution of renewable energy sources to the country's energy mix by 2030."
The CEO of Enterprise Greece, Mr. George Filiopoulos, noted that:
"Greece remains a very promising and safe investment destination in Southeast Europe, even during current business uncertainty due to a pandemic. Enterprise Greece continues to record strong investment interest in various sectors of the economy, including the energy sector. New investments worth over € 44 bln are in progress and are expected to be made in our country in the next decade, in the context of the implementation of the National Energy and Climate Plan (2020-2030), the Fair Development Transition Plan, and the European Projects of Common Interest (PCI's)."
